Can I still use my old telephone exchange and gradually make the switch?
The implementation can be realized in several phases. So you can first gain experience in Internet calling and build confidence in the new system. In the first phase, your current phones and PBX remain in use and i2Host or i2Pack are put into service additionally.

Can I still use my analog phones?
The VOIP technology doesn't exclude the current analog technology. So you can connect your old phone to the new VoIP system using Channel banks, or you can connect your old PBX as Channel Bank for the new VoIP system. Also if you want to keep your old ISDN lines, this is still possible through an ISDN gateway.

Can we build a mixed network?
There is no need to replace your entire machine park. It is in many ways possible to build a "mixed" network. For example it is possible to work with analog devices. These are somewhat cheaper than SIP devices and can be connected with the help of a Channel Bank. It is also possible to connect ISDN devices via an ISDN gateway (e.g. Patton). If these devices are connected to the ISDN network, they can also act as backup.

The phones can be connected to your PC network, so the wiring usually does not need to be changed. You can also connect your current or new phones via an analog channel bank and your current telephony wiring.

There are several possibilities. You can choose to keep your current subscription and add an ISDN gateway. It is possible to keep your current provider and to choose another subscription for SIP instead of an ISDN subscription. You can also go to a cheaper provider and opt for number porting.

We are independent of your choice of SIP Provider. It is important to take a good SIP provider as your quality of service is dependent on the network of the provider. We can advise on your choice of SIP provider. You can also select multiple providers and save on call costs via least cost routing.

Do we have to take future expansions into account?
i2Pack is suitable for small business but you can still take advantage of the functionality of an extended PBX. There is a license pack for a minimum of 5 users and you can expand this as desired. As your business grows, i2Pack grows just with you without you having to buy extra modules. You only pay for the extra connections.

Which phones work with i2Pack?
i2Pack and i2Host are complying with open standards, which in theory means that we can work with all types of devices. In practice it is often the case that some units are not open standard. Basically, we work with all major brands like Linksys, Grandstream, Siemens, Polycom, SNOM, etc.

Is the intelligence in the phones?
No, the intelligence is in the server. This has the advantage that the intelligence can be shared with several colleagues and with more phones and business applications. For example if a user does not want to be disturbed this applies to all of his phones. Intelligence in the server means more functionality and easier and cheaper devices.

How can I get free mobile calls to my colleagues?
When many internal mobile phone calls are made, the phones can be included in the flat-free call group using a GSM gateway.

Can users manage their own settings?
Yes, basically. Users can manage their own settings as far as they are authorized to do so, such as setting their diversions, compose an IVR menu, record sounds. This is all made very user friendly and does not pose any difficulty for the average user.

Yes it is easily possible to make voice recordings. Legally, the other party needs to give permission for recording. Many companies still mention it on the website or in the IVR menu.

How can I make free VoIP calls to my other sites and with my partners?
You can place a server on one location and have other locations log in to this server. Another possibility is to put a server on all of your sites and to interconnect them. In either case calls between all locations are free and internal numbers can be used.

How can I save on my phone costs?
If you transfer your expensive ISDN connection to a VoIP trunk where calls are cheaper. This also saves on subscription fees. If you still want to keep your ISDN connection, that is possible, for instance by allowing incoming calls to enter through ISDN and outgoing calls to go through the VOIP trunk. You can then later choose to cancel your ISDN.

How can I be reachable on the road and yet forward certain calls to colleagues?
With i2Pack you can link your internal connection to your cell phone. This is called twinning. You can choose the way you do this. For example, having both devices ring simultaneously or after a delay. All your diversion settings remain intact, such as absence, no answer, do not disturb, etc.
